Kinokuniya Bunzaemon

a brand of Japanese sake brewed by Nakano BC Co.,Ltd., named after an ancient famous merchant here in Wakayama.

(1) Japanese sake is an alcoholic beverage brewed from rice.
We uses Japanese sake rice such as Yamada-Nishiki and so forth.

(2)Sake contains 80% of water.
As for water, we use the infiltrated natural water from Fujishiro Mountain Range after filtration for our Sake. Besides, we use this water for washing rice and rinsing the utensils for brewing, instead of city water.

(3)Sake is made by touji (brew-masters) and kurabito (his staff).
Among many kinds of sake, there are a sake made by handworks and another sake made by machines for mass production and sometimes added brewer alcohol to increase the quantity of sake.
In NAKANO BC Co.,Ltd., our touji (brew-masters) and kurabito (his staff) are brewing sake very carefully by handworks.

(4)Kinokuniya Bunzaemon is the sake of high-quality.

Nakano Umeshu(Ume Liqueur)

Nakano Umeshu(Ume liqueur) is produced by our Umeshu touji (brew-masters).

(1) Ume fruits are used.
Ume, or Japanese apricot, a species of plum, is a tree of the blossom and the fruit, distributed widely in Asia. Ume trees have been very often painted of from the ancient times, and very popular garden trees in Japan.
Ume has many species, such as Gojiro-Ume,
Shirokaga-ume,Koshu-Saisho-ume and so forth, the fruits of which are very often eaten. Umeshu(Ume-liqueur) is a kind of liqueur in which the edible fruits are soaked and the flavour of fruits is extracted.

(2)Quality species “ Nakano Umeshu”
We use a quality species “Nanko-ume” for making Ume liqueur among the many species. “Nanko-ume” is the produce of Wakayama, where Nakano BC is located, We make an effort to acquire the Ume fruits of quality, by making contracts with the “Nanko-ume” farmers near the Minabe Ume Orchard, well known farm in Japan.
The fruit of Nanko-ume is very big in size, with a relatively smaller stone, and features thick and soft flesh. Among Nanko-ume of thick flesh, there are of various size ranging from very big ones and rather small ones, We only use ones of big size and high quality.

●Minabe Ume Orchard Minabe Town, Wakayama Prefecture.
There are the Ume forest stretching as far as you can see on the gently sloping hills, we call them Minabe Ume Orchard of “Million Ume trees, fragrance of blooming Ume floating in ten miles radius”. They bloom white flowers and the air will be filled with the fragrance of Ume all around in the season.

(3) The effectiveness of Nanko-ume.
Nanko-ume has not only thick and delicious flesh, but also has been reported it is good for the health. On the home page of Minabe Town Government, the township where they are grown, such effectiveness are introduced as:
